The chart shows the trend about the increasing number of private cars in China per million people from 1987 to 1999. From the 1987, it increased slightly until 1992. Starting from 1993, it was rapidly jumped to over 4000 per million people.
Between 1987 and 1988, a smaller number of people owned a private car, which was less than 1000 per million people while in 1989 to 1990, the level of vehicle ownership is levelled off. During 1991 to 1992, it increased approximately to 1000.
Whereas in 1993 to 1997, it went up quickly.
